PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a catalyst unit is provided to maintain a predetermined purification rate for exhaust gas and to reduce costs for catalytic components by closing a channel on a part corresponding to a dead zone using a plug and preventing coating on the inner part of the channel.;CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a catalyst unit includes the following steps: a part of a channel is covered by placing a masking member on a part of the front surface of a carrier(S610); and a plugging member is introduced into an opened channel except for the part covered with the masking member. In the process of introducing the plugging member, the plugging member is attached on a roller and closes the entrance of an opened channel by rolling the roller along the front surface of the carrier.
