PURPOSE: A gradual position recognition system using multi-hop in a dead zone environment and a method thereof are provided to measure a tag location existed in a shadow area by using a measurement anchor.;CONSTITUTION: A gradual location recognizing system a client(100), a server(200), and a plurality of nodes(10,20,300). A plurality of nodes is separated to a fixing anchor(10), a measurement anchor(20), and a tag(300) according to roles of a wireless communication device including a single wireless interface. The tag measures a distance between the fixing anchor and the measurement anchor and transmits a measurement result to the server. A plurality of anchors transmits a response message to the tag by receiving a location recognition request from the tag. The server calculates a location of a tag based on the position information of the anchor and distance information measured in the tag and receives the measured distance information from the tag.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013;[Reference numerals] (10) Fixing anchor; (100) Client; (200) Server
