PURPOSE: A method for the laser-optical determination of the height of a strand guide roller, a measuring system, and a measurement touch probe unit and a use of the measuring system are provided to rapidly measure and evaluate the actual height of the strand guide roller of a strand guide at high accuracy.;CONSTITUTION: A measurement touch probe unit(1) comprises a touch probe, a vertical guide profile(4), a laser receiving unit, and a displacement measuring device. The touch probe includes a touch surface. The vertical guide profile is firmly connected to the touch probe. The laser receiving unit includes a detector field and a distance evaluation unit. The laser receiving unit can be moved in vertical direction from the guide profile. The detector field detects laser beams(8).
