VARIABLE STAGE FRICTION DAMPER CAPABLE OF EFFECTIVELY DAMPING THE VIBRATION OF LOW AND HIGH FREQUENCY DOMAINS

PURPOSE: A variable stage friction damper is provided to offer damping force for effectively responding to the vibration of low and high frequency domains by selectively removing the pre-stressed section of a friction area.;CONSTITUTION: A variable stage friction damper comprises a cylinder(110), a piston rod(120), a friction member(130), a stage(140), and a stage shifting unit. The cylinder comprises a friction member and a friction area(101) for accommodating the stage. The piston rod moves back and forth inside the cylinder in order to damp the vibration of a vibrating medium. The friction member is rubbed with the outer circumference of the piston rod in the friction area inside the cylinder, and provides damping force for damping the vibration of the external vibration medium. The stage moves in the longitudinal direction of the piston rod in the friction area, and limits the moving section of the friction member. The stage shifting unit shifts the stage in the longitudinal direction of the piston rod inside the friction area.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
