PURPOSE: An insulation status monitoring apparatus of power equipment and a method thereof are provided to judge degree of danger of insulation status of the power equipment accurately even under the state that a partial discharge measurement value of the power equipment is changed frequently during a constant period.;CONSTITUTION: An insulation status monitoring apparatus of power equipment includes a sensor part, an analog-digital conversion part(40) and an operational calculation part(200). The sensor part senses partial discharge during a constant period from a power equipment(10). The analog-digital conversion part(40) converts a signal component in a determined frequency band of a signal of the partial discharge sensed by the sensor part into digital data per sensing date.
