PURPOSE: A method for welding a magnesium alloy and a structural steel using hybrid friction stir is provided to make the steel soft enough to be plastically stirred by uniformly distributing temperature due to frictional heat, thereby forming a sound junction part and improving welding properties between the alloy and the steel. CONSTITUTION: A method for welding a magnesium alloy and a structural steel using hybrid friction stir includes a friction stir welding tool(110) and a TIG(Tungsten Inert Gas) torch(120). The tool is in contact with a junction part(104) of different base materials, and rotates. The torch preheats the junction part with arc heat.
