PURPOSE: A traffic fare terminal and a traffic fare treating method using thereof are provided to support a plurality of communication methods for the communication between the traffic fare terminals used for an Automated Fare Collection System of the traffic fare, and to offer a signal united API(Application Programming Interface) regardless of the difference of a plurality of communication methods. CONSTITUTION: A traffic fare terminal(100) comprises a communication module(140), a common module managing unit(130), an API(120), and a control unit(110). The communication module supports a plurality of communication methods including a first communication method and a second communication method. The common module managing unit separately manages a plurality of common modules which a plurality of communication methods commonly require. The API provides the control or communication of a plurality of communication methods in a single method. The control unit controls at least one of the common modules or the communication modules through the API.
