PURPOSE: Expandable polystyrene is provided to have excellent insulating performance and workability, to improve strength of a foam material by preventing separation of a coated layer, and to be manufactured by a simple process.;CONSTITUTION: Expandable polystyrene consists of an expandable resin particle(10); and a coated layer(20) which is formed on the surface of the expandable resin particle. The coated layer comprises a binder(22) and an insulating particle(21). A manufacturing method of the expandable polystyrene comprises a step of manufacturing a coating liquid which includes a volatile solvent, the binder, and the insulating particle; a step of coating the expandable resin particle with the coating liquid; and a step of drying the coated expandable polystyrene resin particle. The amount of the insulating particle is 1-10 parts by weight, based on 100.0 parts by weight of the expandable resin particle.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
