PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing the re-oxidation of molten steel and a re-oxidation prevention method using the same are provided to reduce the content of oxygen in ambient gas within a tundish in the beginning of casting and during the casting by measuring partial pressure of oxygen within the tundish and controlling the flow rates of inert gas and reduction gas according to the partial pressure of oxygen.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for preventing the re-oxidation of molten steel comprises a tundish(1), a tundish cover(2), an oxygen partial pressure measuring unit(3), a gas mixing unit(7), and one or more nozzles(5). The tundish stores molten steel supplied from a ladle. The tundish cover closes the top of the tundish. The oxygen partial pressure measuring unit is located in one area of the tundish cover and measures partial pressure of oxygen within the tundish. The gas mixing unit is located outside the tundish and mixes inert gas with reduction gas. The nozzles are located in the other area of the tundish cover with one side connected to the gas mixing unit to supply the mixed gas of the inert gas and reduction gas into the tundish.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
