PURPOSE: A battery lifetime extending apparatus is provided to control duty ratio of pulse applied to a battery, according to surrounding temperature, thereby extending lifetime of a battery and preventing degradation of a battery. CONSTITUTION: A battery lifetime extending apparatus comprises a temperature sensing part(30) for sensing surrounding temperature of a battery(10); a control part generating a control pulse with controlled duty ratio according to the surrounding temperature; and an output pulse generating part(50) which outputs pulse to the battery by generating the pulse and amplifying the control pulse. The control part controls the duty ratio by controlling at least one of width and cycle of the control pulse.
