CHARACTERIZATION OF -GALACTOSIDASE FROM BACILLUS SP. LX-1 AS A POTENTIAL FEED ADDITIVE AND OPTIMIZATION OF SOLID STATE FERMENTATION FOR THE ENZYME PRODUCTION
PURPOSE: LX-1-derived alpha-galactosidase is provided to ensure strict substrate specificity by exclusively decomposing alpha-galactooligosaccharides, protease resistance, and smooth activity under an animal intestine-like environment, and to be used as an additive for soybean cake processing. CONSTITUTION: Bacillus sp. LX-1(deposit number KACC91695P) has 16S rDNA sequence of sequence number 1. An enzyme composition contains alpha-galactosidase with resistance to trypsin, pronase, or pancrease, derived from the strain. A method for hydrolyzing raffinose and stachyose in soybean cake comprises a step of treating the soybean cake with the strain-derived alpha-galactosidase. A feed additive composition contains the strain or the strain-derived alpha-galactosidase as an active ingredient.
