PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of a positive active material for lithium secondary batteries is provided to manufacture the positive active material with excellent crystallinity and uniform particle size in short time at relatively low temperatures. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a positive active material comprises a step of manufacturing a first mixed solution by dissolving a lithium source and an oxidant into a solvent; a step of manufacturing a second mixed solution by dissolving a manganese source into a solvent; a step of manufacturing a mixed solution by mixing the first mixed solution and the second mixed solution, and adding a solvent which has a boiling point of 100 C or less into the mixture; and a step of obtaining a lithium manganese composite metal oxide by carrying out a hydrothermal reaction while heating the mixed solution to 60-200 C.
