PURPOSE: Carbon nanotubes (CNT) and a method for manufacturing the same are provided to synthesize a non-bundle type of CNT in a spherical shape by simultaneously controlling the activity and fine dust of an impregnated supported catalyst.;CONSTITUTION: CNT comprise a ternary components-based carbon nanotubes catalyst containing catalytic and active components. The CNT has a potato or spherical shape and the particle size distribution of 0.5-1.0. A method for manufacturing CNT comprises the steps of: mixing an alumina support into a transparent metal aqueous solution in which a multi-carboxylic acid component and a precursor aqueous solution of a catalytic component are successively mixed with a precursor aqueous solution of an active component; vacuum-drying the mixture at the temperature of 40-80 C, and plasticizing the mixture at the temperature of 650-800 C; obtaining a CNT catalyst in which a catalytic component and an active component are impregnated and coated on the surface and pores of the alumina support; injecting the CNT catalyst into a fluidized bed reactor, and injecting at least one carbon supplying source selected among C1-C4 saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbons and a mixed gas of the carbon supplying source, hydrogen, and nitrogen into the reactor at the temperature of 500-900 C; and growing CNT on the surface of the catalyst using a chemical vapor synthesizing method based on the decomposition of the carbon supplying source.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
