PURPOSE: A domain-based packet forwarding method and system are provided to solve the problem of data plane performance degradation due to the length of a header.;CONSTITUTION: A domain-based packet forwarding system includes a path server (100), receiving a request of path information and dividing a path, and domains forwarding a packet. The path server receives a request of path information for transmission from a sending domain, desiring to transmit a packet to a destination domain among the domains, and determines a path. The path server divides the path by the number of domains conforming to a predetermined standard and transmits this path information to a domain connecting the divided path. In case there are five domains (R0-R4), including the destination domain, from the sending domain on a path, the path server divides the path into a section containing three domains (R0-R2) from the sending domain.
