PURPOSE: A carbon dioxide absorbent based on natural biomass and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to innovatively reduce a process cost since a process for maintaining a high dispersion state when adding an active ingredient is not needed as an alkali metal or an alkali metal component included in the natural biomass forms has a highly dispersed state by itself. CONSTITUTION: A manufacturing method of a carbon dioxide absorbent based on natural biomass comprises the steps of: carbonizing a plant-based biomass material including an alkali metal or an alkali earth-metal; and pulverizing the carbonized biomass material. The plant-based biomass material including an alkali metal or an alkali earth-metal is plant-based cellulose.
