PURPOSE: A primer for detecting fruit insects is provided to quickly and accurately diagnose Grapholita molesta larvae and to resolve problems in export. CONSTITUTION: A primer set for detecting Grapholita molesta contains primers of sequence numbers 3 and 4. A kit for detecting fruit insects contains the primer set. The primers of sequence numbers 3 and 4 are GrapM428-F primer and GrapM-R primer, respectively.
