PURPOSE: A shock absorbing steering column of a vehicle is provided to control a collapse load without additional components in the collision of the vehicle and improve impact performance by controlling a collapse load corresponding to collision properties by each vehicle model.;CONSTITUTION: A shock absorbing steering column (300) of a vehicle comprises a lower tube (320), an upper column (310), and a support member (315). The lower tube is connected to the outside of a steering shaft (301). The upper column is connected to the outer circumference of the lower tube and includes a through hole (313) on the end of one side in a radial direction. The support member is connected to the through hole and absorbs an impact load as the end of the support member is supported by the outer circumference of the lower tube when the upper column is collapsed in the radial direction with the collision of the vehicle.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
