STEERING COLUMN STRUCTURE OF A VEHICLE, CAPABLE OF ABSORBING SHOCK BY SHOCK ABSORBING DEVICES ARRANGED AROUND THE COLUMN AT REGULAR INTERVALS WHEN EXTERNAL SHOCK IS APPLIED TO THE VEHICLE
PURPOSE: A steering column structure of a vehicle is provided to absorb shock applied to a driver by a handle since an upper column and a lower column linearly contract in an axial direction if external shock is applied to the vehicle. ;CONSTITUTION: A steering column structure of a vehicle comprises a column unit, a plate bracket, and shock absorbing devices(50). The column unit is arranged between a handle and a gear device, to which torque from a handle is transferred. The column unit comprises an upper column and a lower column. The lower column comprises an upper column and a concentric shaft and relatively slides. The plate bracket is symmetrically fixed to the outer circumferential surface of the upper column. Both sides of the shock absorbing device are fixed to the plate bracket and the gear device. The shock absorbing devices are arranged on any place perpendicular to the shaft of the column unit at regular intervals based on the column unit.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2011
