PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing red phosphor powder is provided to produce high-brightness Eu-doped Sr2Si5N8 red phosphor at a normal pressure and a temperature between 1500C and 1900C by using a carbothermal-reduction-and-nitridation method and oxide raw material powder.;CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing red phosphor powder comprises the steps of: mixing or pulverizing strontium, silicon, europium and oxides or carbonates thereof with carbon or carbon source; and producing Eu-doped Sr2Si5N8 red phosphor powder material by reducing and nitrifying the produced powder in an atmosphere of N2-H2 flowing at a normal pressure and at a temperature between 1500C and 1900C for one to six hours. The sizes of strontium oxide, silicon oxide and europium oxide are less than 500 nm.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
