PURPOSE: A respiration volume measurement system for a needle insertion type surgical procedure and a method thereof significantly reduce the number of imaging by simply measuring impedance according to the respiration of a patient and objectively checking the respiration volume of the patient.;CONSTITUTION: An impedance measurement unit (210) measures impedance according to the respiration of an object. A respiration volume measurement unit (220) measures the respiration volume of the object according to the measured impedance. An information output unit (230) outputs the respiration volume of the object used in a procedure in which a needle is inserted into the object. A movement detection unit (250) calculates a moving distance of a target part by detecting the movement of a patient.
