PURPOSE: A method and system for a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) are provided to share resources by the unit of each polyprism or each block, thereby reducing the amount of topographic map data. CONSTITUTION: A server (102) includes a game master interface (111). A game server maintains a virtual game space. An authentication server authenticates game players connected to the game server. A game map database includes multi-layered areas where one or more parts of player regions are overlapped with each other in the virtual game space. The game map database is constructed with a group of multiple polyprisms which are arranged closely to each other. The game server three-dimensionally recognizes and controls the individual location of each game player. A web server (106) manages and controls a communications network.
