CRACK DIAGNOSIS DEVICE OF SOLIDIFIED SHELL IN MOLD AND METHOD THEREOF

PURPOSE: A crack diagnosis device of a solidified shell in a mold and a diagnosis method thereof are provided to reduce a fraction defective of slabs manufactured in a continuous casting process by correcting operation conditions when cracks are occurred. CONSTITUTION: A crack diagnosis device(100) of a solidified shell in a mold comprises a temperature detecting part(110) and a control unit(190). The temperature detecting part comprises a plurality of temperature detecting members(111,112). The temperature detecting members are divided into a first group(101) and second group(102) based on an area where cracks are possible to be occurred. The control unit respectively calculates an average temperature for each group by using the detected temperature, thereby extracting the maximum temperature deviation. The control unit diagnoses whether the cracks are occurred or not by using the extracted maximum temperature deviation.
