PURPOSE: A farming method is provided to reduce soil loss, which occurs in the hill side arable land, by the farming cultivation method itself without a separate facility such as a diaphragm drain.;CONSTITUTION: A slope land side is tilled. Fertilizer is provided to the land side. Seeds of the crops are sprinkled over the slope land side. The grown crops are harvested. A surface covering material capable of water penetrating is covered on the slope land side. The surface covering material is made of a rice straw mat. Polyacrylamide powder is scattered over the rice straw mat. The land side is tilled again after the step of harvesting the grown crops. Sawdust is scattered over the surface covering material. Rice husks are scattered over the surface covering material. Plaster powder is scattered over the surface covering material. Polyacrylamide powder is adhered to the surface covering material. Sawdust is adhered to the surface covering material.
