PURPOSE: A soybean-derived isoflavone aglycon and a cosmetic composition containing the same are provided to improve stability and skin absorption solubility and to enhance collagen biosynthesis. CONSTITUTION: An isoflavone aglycon contains a crude extract which is isolated and purified in an active form by enzyme or microorganism fermentation. The enzyme is beta-glucosidase. The microorganism is Bifidobacteria, Lactobacilli, Leuconostocs, yeast, or Aspergilli. A method for preparing the isoflavone aglycon comprises: a step of stirring the crude extract of soybean isoflavone using the enzyme or microorganism at 30-45C and pH 3-5 for 1-4 hours and converting isoflavone glycon into an aglycon having a hydroxy group.
