PURPOSE: A system for monitoring the abrasion of a bearing of an engine for a ship and a method for monitoring the abrasion of the bearing using the same are provided to analyze the abrasion of the bearing according to a distance between a cross head and an inductive proximity sensor, thereby providing an analyzed result to an operator.;CONSTITUTION: A system for monitoring the abrasion of a bearing of an engine for a ship is composed of an SCU(100) and an SAU(200). The SCU installed on each lower part of a cross head guide of a cross head engine measures the distances to the bottom of the dead centers for each cross head, thereby detecting data in respect to the measured distances. The SAU compare-analyzes the data with respect to the measured distance with reference data measured in advance, thereby detecting the resulting data. When a piston of the engine reaches the bottom dead center, the distance from the lowest point of the cross head and an inductive proximity sensor such that the abrasion of the bearing of the cross head caused by the deflection of the cross head is monitored on a real time basis.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013
