PURPOSE: A stone mattress for river revetment and slope side protection and a construction method thereof are provided to protect river revetment and a slope sides by exhibiting strong fixing power at the river revetment or the slope side. CONSTITUTION: A stone mattress for river revetment and slope side protection comprises non-woven fabric(10), a bottom net(20), an anchor member(21), a plurality of ripraps(30), a cover net(40), a net fixture(50), a riprap fixture(60), a soil covering layer(70), a slope stopping member(80), and an indicator(90). The non-woven fabric is disposed on the upper surface of a revetment or a slope side(1). The bottom net is disposed on the upper surface of the non-woven fabric. The anchor member fixes the bottom net to the river revetment or the slope side. The plurality of ripraps is installed on the top of the bottom net. The cover net covers the tops of the ripraps. Both ends of the net fixture are combined to the bottom net and the cover net to inter-fix the bottom net and the cover net. The riprap fixture is combined to the ripraps and connected to the cover net to fix the ripraps to the cover net. The soil covering layer is formed by covering the top of the cover net with soil. The slope stopping member is disposed on the border part of the bottom surface and the revetment or the slope side of the river. The indicator is connected to the ripraps and indicates the degree of excitation or rundown of the ripraps.
