PURPOSE: A poly(arylene ether ketone) which carries main chain sulfonation group, a manufacturing method thereof, and a polymer electrolyte membrane for fuel batteries which is manufactured by using thereof are provided to enhance physical property, to control degree of cross-linking and sulfonation with simple method, and to reduce fabrication cost. CONSTITUTION: A poly(arylene ether ketone) which carries main chain sulfonation group includes amide structure in a side chain. The poly(arylene ether ketone) which carries main chain sulfonation group is represented by chemical formula 1. In the chemical formula 1, 0m1, 0n1, R and R' are independently selected from hydrogen or C1-10 alkyl group. Y is a unit which includes one or more of C6-12 aryl group which is substituted with one or more of sulfonic acid(SO3H). R and R' are hydrogen.
