MOTOR WITH COMPENSATION FOR LOSS-IN-WEIGHT AND DRUM TYPE WASHING MACHINE HAVING THE SAME

A motor compensated for the reduction in weight and a washing machine equipped with the motor are provided to compensate the weight loss brought on by replacing a conventional motor with a motor made from lighter materials such as aluminum by fixing a weight compensating member to a tub along with a stator by using a bolt. A washing machine capable of compensating the weight loss of a motor has a stator(110). The stator has mounting grooves(115) radially disposed on one side of an insulator(112) for mounting a weight compensating member(130). The weight compensating member has plural protrusions(132) inserted between projecting combining units(111c) disposed on an inner circumference of the stator. The combining units allow the stator to be assembled to a tub(210) by bolts(B1). The weight compensating member is composed of plural pieces, each of which has at least one combining hole(131a).
