MOTOR WITH COMPENSATION FOR LOSS-IN-WEIGHT AND DRUM TYPE WASHING MACHINE HAVING THE SAME

A motor compensated for the reduction in weight and a washing machine equipped with the motor are provided to compensate the weight reduction caused by replacing a conventional motor with a structurally improved lighter motor, by fixing a weight compensation member along with a rotor to a shaft of a drum by a bolt, thereby maintaining the balance of a tub. In a washing machine equipped with a motor(100) capable of compensating the reduction in weight of a conventional motor, a drum is assembled in a tub(210) and rotated therein. A rotor(120) is fixed to the drum, and a stator(110) is fixed to the tub. A weight compensation member(130) is assembled to the rotor for compensating the weight loss of the motor and for maintaining the balance of the tub. The weight compensation member, along with the rotor, is fixed to a shaft(220) of the drum by a bolt(B2). The rotor has securing grooves(122) for mounting the weight compensation unit.
