PURPOSE: A real-time system for updating a geographic information system recording the location information of a ground or underground facilities is provided to remove survey errors, thereby accurately and easily collecting the altitude information of a ground surface and an inclination thereof. CONSTITUTION: A real-time system for updating a geographic information system recording the location information of ground or underground facilities comprises an information collecting device and a reference coordinate transmitting device. The information collecting device includes a GPS receiver, a camera, an inclination sensor, a travelling distance confirming device, a signal transmitter, a control device, an input-output device, and a memory. The GPS receiver confirms GPS coordinates of a location where a vehicle is located by communicating with a satellite. The camera photographs the periphery of a vehicle, thereby collecting pictures of real images. The driving distance confirming device confirms a current moving distance of the vehicle. The control device draws a graph according to the confirmed moving distance of the vehicle. The control device confirms whether an inclination of a corresponding ground surface is zero or not by confirming the sensing signals of the inclination sensor when receiving the reference signals. The control unit outputs abnormal signals using the input-output device when the inclination is not zero. The reference coordinate transmitting device is installed on the ground surface where the inclination is zero and transmits the reference signals according to the received driving signals.
