PURPOSE: A steel composite continuous bridge using concrete cross beams and a construction method thereof are provided to exclude or minimize the occupation of space under a bridge during construction. CONSTITUTION: A construction method of a steel composite continuous bridge using concrete cross beams is as follows. After burying a reinforcement plate for bridge bearing installation in the upper part of a support including a pier and an abutment, a primary concrete cross beam reinforcing bar and a girder backing frame is installed(S1). Concrete is placed and hardened first to a position slightly lower than the bottom surface of a girder in order to enable smooth composition of a concrete cross beam and a girder(S2). A pre-manufactured girder is placed on a girder support on the concrete cross beam(S3). A timbering for slab construction and a secondary form are installed as being supported by the girder(S4). After arranging bottom reinforcing bars, a secondary concrete cross beam and slab concrete are placed at the same time and hardened(S5). A defense wall and a handrail are installed(S6).
