APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING TUNNEL-CAVING IN AND METHOD OF TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION THEREBY

PURPOSE: A tunnel collapse preventing apparatus and a tunnel construction method using the same are provided to effectively cope with lateral pressure applied from the side wall of a tunnel and to facilitate installation. CONSTITUTION: A tunnel collapse preventing apparatus comprises rock bolts(310), support bars, rock bolt guide plates(420), gap retainers, and nuts(305). The rock bolts are inserted in the side wall of a tunnel. The support bars respectively comprise a prop(431), a vertical spacing device(432), and a lock bolt guide plate housing(433). The prop supports the end of a girder for supporting a tunnel excavation face. The vertical spacing unit and the rock bolt guide plate housing are formed to face each other on the top of the prop so that the rock bolts can be received. The rock bolt guide plates are received inside the rock bolt guide plate housing and guide and fix the rock bolts on the side wall of the tunnel. The gap retainers maintain a gap between the vertical spacing units. The nuts are coupled to one end of the rock bolts and fix the rock bolts on the rock bolt guide plates.
