PURPOSE: A hydrogen production system for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell is provided to provide hydrogen of high purity in which carbon monoxide is removed, and to naturally derive heat flow according to respective reaction temperature of reaction processes. CONSTITUTION: A hydrogen production system(100) for a polymer electrolyte fuel cell: comprises: a vapor reformation part(10) generating synthetic gas by reacting methane gas and vapor; a water gas shift reaction part(20) consisting of a high-temperature conversion reactor(21) and a low-temperature conversion reactor(26); a selective oxidation part(30) oxidizing carbon monoxide in synthetic gas discharged through the water gas shift reaction part; a cooling part(40) cooling the selective oxidation part; and a main body part accepting the vapor reformation part, the water gas shift reaction part, the cooling part, and the selective oxidation reaction part.
