PURPOSE: A passive decay heat removal system for liquid metal cooled reactors with enhanced natural circulation capability of reactor pool using a chimney effect are provided to stably remove heat. CONSTITUTION: A high temperature sodium pool(42) includes sodium passing through a core of a nuclear reactor. A sodium-to-sodium decay heat exchanger(41) cools the sodium. A barrel(43) is arranged in the high temperature sodium pool. A low temperature sodium pool receives the sodium through an intermediate heat exchanger(47).
