PURPOSE: A producing method of artificial soil and a cultivation method of sphagnum moss are provided to maximize a growth of the sphagnum moss, and to make the manufacture possible efficiently with low costs. CONSTITUTION: Artificial soil is a mixture of peat moss and sand with further inclusion of zeolite or dried moss, and is blended in a mixing ratio of the peat moss:the zeolite or the dried moss=1:0.25-4. The artificial solid is formed with a pH 6.0 or below. A fiber layer with water permeability is adhered to inside of a container having multiple perforations. A vegetation base material, which is the mixture of the peat moss and sand in a mixing ratio of 1:(0.25-4), fills in the container for cultivation of sphagnum moss. The sphagnum moss is spread on the vegetation base material. A water level is maintained at 15 cm or lower from the surface on which the sphagnum moss is spread.
