PURPOSE: A method for providing a real time search service having an palling cycle optimized for each individual, a terminal thereof, and a recording medium thereof are provided to optimize a polling cycle for updating an SNS in a terminal by using adaptive algorithm. CONSTITUTION: A communication unit(10) communicates with a server and a control unit(30) controls each component. If the number of characters updated during a polling cycle set in a terminal exceeds the number of characters arranged on a screen of the terminal, a polling cycle setting unit(50) reduces the polling cycle. If the number of updated characters is less than the number of the characters arranged on the screen, the polling cycle setting unit increases the polling cycle.
