PURPOSE: A method for preparing 5-membered cyclic carbonate compounds is provided to control pore size and to quickly synthesize 5-membered cyclic carbonate. CONSTITUTION: A method for preparing 5-memberd cyclic carbonate compounds comprises a step of reacting carbon dioxide and epoxide derivatives using ionic liquid catalyst supported in a silica-based carrier in a microwave reactor at 50-300 W of microwave power and 0.5-3.0 MPa of carbon dioxide pressure without a separate solvent for 10-60 minutes. The ionic liquid is ammonium salt, pyridinium salt, or imidazole salt. The epoxide derivative is propylene oxide, aryl glycidyl ether, phenyl glycidyl ether, glycidyl methacrylate, cyclo hexane oxide, or epichlorohydrin.
