NAND FLASH MEMORY SYSTEM INCLUDING A CLUSTERING-DEMAND BASED FLASH TRANSLATION LAYER WITH REDUCED MEMORY CONSUMPTION IN MAINTAINING A TABLE CONCEPT OF A SSD CAPABLE OF CONSIDERING SPATIAL LOCALITY
PURPOSE: A NAND flash memory system including a clustering-demand based flash translation layer considering spatial locality reduces RAM use significantly and achieves a competitive level of performance by comparing a spatial locality and two-phase concept table structure with a page concept policy.;CONSTITUTION: A RAM (100) includes a cached cluster mapping table (CCMT) to store the concept information of those clusters used above a certain value. A NAND flash memory (200) includes data blocks to store data and translation blocks to store the concept information of the clusters. A flash translation layer (FTL) (300) includes a clustered page concept table and a global cluster table (GCT). When a request for an address is sent by a file system, it is identified whether the requested cluster is in the cached cluster concept table or in the translation blocks using the GCT.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2013;[Reference numerals] (200) NAND flash memory; (300) Flash memory converting hierarchy
