SUPERCONDUCTING RACE TRACK COIL USING SUPERCONDUCTING WIRE WITHOUT INSULATION

摘要

PURPOSE: A superconduction race track coil using a superconducting wire without insulation is provided to prevent a quench phenomenon by forming a metal layer in a superconducting wire. CONSTITUTION: A metal layer(120) is formed on the surface of a superconducting wire(140). The metal layer is formed between superconduction race track coils(100). A driving current turns around the metal layer if the driving current is larger than a first transient current. The driving current turns round the superconducting wire if the driving current is larger than a second transient current. The metal layer includes a conductive material having high thermal conductivity.
