A method and an apparatus for producing a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal from a sampled digital signal by chaotic modulation are provided to improve analog modulation performance and protect filters from non-linear effects caused by harmonics. A method for producing a PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) signal from a sampled digital signal by chaotic modulation includes the steps of: generating predetermined chaos intervals with random values by using a chaotic oscillator; and generating the PWM signal from a reference signal and the sampled digital signal for each chaos interval. The second step includes the steps of: calculating the maximum value of the reference signal for each chaos interval, and counting the maximum value of the reference signal to generate the reference signal(S702); and generating the PWM signal by comparing the reference signal with the sampled digital signal(S703).
