PURPOSE: A method for predicting product quality of a coke is provided to approximately predict cold strength and hot strength to a measured value using a maceral reflection rate index from gray scale, to accurately predict product quality of the coke, and to stabilize a coke oven work. CONSTITUTION: A method for predicting product quality of a coke comprises: a step of obtaining mineral basicity index from a carbon ingredient-removed ash ingredient(S10); a step of obtaining a maceral reflection rate index from gray scale(S20); a step of predicting quality of the coke prepared from a plurality of coking coal using the mineral basicity index and the maceral reflection rate index(S30); and a step of calculating by dividing a value of ferric oxide plus, calcium oxide, magnesium oxide, potassium oxide, and sodium oxide ingredients by a value of silicon oxide and aluminum oxide ingredients(S40). [Reference numerals] (AA) Start; (BB) End; (S10) Obtain mineral basicity index from ash ingredients, which carbon ingredients are completely removed from, by heating raw coal; (S20) Obtain the maceral reflectivity index from gray scale which is generated by measuring the image of maceral structures contained in the raw coal; (S30) Derive a coke quality prediction equation from a value which obtained by dividing the maceral reflectivity index with the 4-th root of the mineral basicity index; (S40) Obtain the mineral basicity index from the ash component of newly stored coal, calculate the maceral reflectivity index from a coal analysis specimen, apply to the prediction equation, and predict the quality of cokes from the result
