PURPOSE: A method for improving the precision of a time measuring operation and a position tracking apparatus using the same are provided to improve the accuracy of a code tracking operation by calculating the arrival time of a wireless communication signal based on the history of the code tracking operation. CONSTITUTION: A sampling part(51) acquires time information based on a receiving signal. A correlator(53) detects time error between the receiving signal and a tracking signal. A storing part(57) stores a history with respect to the time error between the receiving signal and the tracking signal with respect to each bit of the receiving signal. An accumulation average calculating part(56) calculates the arithmetic average with respect to the history. A sampling position adjusting part(54) adjusts a sampling position according to an output signal with respect to the time error of the correlator.
