PURPOSE: A composition of a crude drug complex formulation with antibacterial property is provided to be used as natural antibiotics or natural preservative. CONSTITUTION: An antibacterial composition contains crude drug extract and grapefruit seed extract in a weight ratio of 1-2:1-1:1-2 as an active ingredient. The crude drug extract is prepared by pulverizing dry Houttuynia cordate and Geranii Herba, extracting with hot water or organic solvent, filtering, and concentrating the extract at reduced pressure. A natual antibiotic for suppressing multidrug resistant strain contains the antibacterial composition. A natural preservative for food additive contains the antibacterial composition.
