1. A method for studying a two-phase type titanium alloy with an alpha phase and a beta phase, characterized in that it includes the following steps: (a) a sample is cut from a part from said alloy; (b) a region (4) of a cut surface of said sample is prepared, located near the edge (50) of said sample, said edge (50) being in common with the outer surface (1) of the part, so as to allow examination of said region (4); (c) the alpha phase of said region (4) is examined at more than 5,000-fold magnification; (d) decide whether granularity is present or absent in the alpha phase of the first zone (11) adjacent to said edge (50) of the sample; (e) conclude that there is gas contamination of the alloy, if established the absence of graininess in the alpha phase of said adjacent zone (11), while graininess (22) is present in the alpha phase outside said adjacent zone (11) .2. A method for studying a titanium alloy according to claim 1, characterized in that said examination at step (c) is carried out using a scanning electron microscope. A method for researching a titanium alloy according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the preparation of said region (4) in step (b) involves polishing said region (4) and then chemically etching said region (4) with at least one reagent. . A method for researching a titanium alloy according to claim 3, characterized in that said chemical etching is carried out by a single reagent.
