FIELD: measurement equipment.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary toxicology and sanitation, namely, to identification of residual quantities of imidacloprid in organs or tissues of animals in case insecticide poisoning is suspected, and also in products of animal origin. The method to identify imidacloprid in biological objects using thin-layer chromatography includes sampling, extraction, filtration. Also the method includes sodium dehydration with anhydrous sulfate and evaporation. Besides, the method includes application of a dissolved dry residue into a chromatographic plate, distillation in a system of movable solvents hexane: acetone (4:3), treatment with a solution of orthotoluidine with subsequent exposure to ultraviolet rays for 3-5 minutes and processing of analysis results. Besides, a sample is a weigh of organs or tissues of animals with weight from 50 to 200 mg, extraction is carried out with acetone, a dissolved dry residue is applied onto plates for thin-layer chromatography "Sorbphil".;EFFECT: higher sensitivity and selectivity of the method with reduction of analysis performance duration.
