FIELD: physics.SUBSTANCE: lens for training human accommodative and vergence systems is mounted in a fixing device which is suitable for positioning in front of the eyes of a patient and has a variable optical power, a geometric centre and a horizontal meridian which passes through the geometric centre primarily horizontally with respect to said fixing device with a predetermined deviation. According to the invention, the lens is characterised by a plurality of vertical profiles which are perpendicular to said horizontal meridian, and has N near vision zones and F far vision zones, each having a centre lying on the horizontal meridian, with formation of N-F pairs of zones and the corresponding number of transition corridors between the F zone and the N zone of each N-F pair of zones. The optical power of the lens infinitely varies primarily along said horizontal meridian, and for each vertical profile from said plurality of vertical profiles, the optical power is invariable.EFFECT: providing infinite variation of optical power of multifocal ophthalmic lenses with a horizontal periodic or quasi-periodic infinite variation of optical power, which are used to train vision and provide continuous dynamic alternation of loads on the accommodative and vergence systems during lateral eye movements which occur when reading or during any other visual inspection of a flat object lying equidistant from the eyes.18 cl, 12 dwg
