FIELD: metallurgy.;SUBSTANCE: during the melting process of metal in an electric arc furnace there recorded is an average value of arc voltage constant component (AVCC) with its preliminary measurement with each of three phases separately. Using test casts, relationships between averaged values of AVCC as to phases and oxidation of metal and slag are determined, which are expressed by oxygen content in metal and content of iron oxides in slag respectively. Oxidation of slag and metal is evaluated as per the obtained relationships on actual casts.;EFFECT: possible monitoring of oxidation in real time mode.;2 cl, 3 dwg
