FIELD: physics.;SUBSTANCE: combined imaging via positron emission tomography (PET) and magnetic resonance (MR) tomography is performed to form hybrid or enhanced images which combine advantages of both techniques. Such a combined configuration of the techniques can employ a contrast substance (80) which includes both a PET label (82) and a magnetic resonance contrast enhancing agent (86).
