The mechanism (1) has a crown (2) arranged to drive in translation a winding stem (3) capable of occupying a longitudinal initial position (T0) for charging energy. The stem is corrugated or threaded over part of its length, for driving in rotation and/or translation of a winding drive unit (4). The stem is returned to the initial position by a spring (5) when the winding drive unit is driven in translation under the effect of pressure or traction of a user, in a limited path between the initial position and an insertion limiting position.
