The device (1) has a sleeve (2) inserted in a broom bundle, where the sleeve comprises a sleeve shell (13) and a bore (4). The bore extends between two ends (5,6) of the sleeve and is arranged coaxial to longitudinal central axis (A) of the sleeve. The sleeve is integrally formed and the sleeve shell is provided with predetermined breaking point such that the sleeve shell ruptures upon inserting a broomstick into the sleeve. The sleeve shell is subdivided in two separate sections with respect to an imaginary plane running through the longitudinal central axis. The sleeve is made of plastic. An independent claim is included for a broom with brushwood.
